PROJECT WENDY HOUSE

 

For the past few weeks, excitement is running high in Brave Heart Home. Why? Brave Heart is putting up a crèche in which to run the daily programme. This is a need that aroused when we started to take in the older children. Running a house from ages 0 – 12 years of age is not an easy task as a developmental programme should be followed for each age group. But due to the age differences, we needed to separate the older kids from the babies.

 

Therefore Brave Heart is currently putting up a Wendy House in which the developmental programme for the older kids can take place. Not only will this help with the logistics inside the house, but the older kids will benefit from it, as they will “leave” the house every morning to go to “school.” A bigger focus can now be put on the developmental programmes than in the past.

 

Currently we are painting and lining the Wendy House inside, putting in a ceiling as well as electricity. The older kids cannot wait for the project to be finished. Their “House Mom” has already taken them for adventurous sleep-overs in the house.

 

So we are counting the days...
